The chart shows the percentage of how parents in a country spent time taking care of their children in the evening in 2022.

Sample:
The bar chart shows the proportion of parental involvement (percentage of time) categorized as mothers, fathers, and both parents in one country with evening childcare in the year 2022. The data suggest that the percentages reported for dressing and game-playing are significantly skewed toward mothers and both parents, respectively, while those for homework and bedtime activities exhibit roughly similar distributions, though the records are again slightly more skewed toward mothers and both parents in that order.
Approximately 75% of mothers’ time is spent on dressing their children. This was about 4 times less when parents worked together, followed by the figure for fathers, which was negligible. In contrast, the percentage of time spent on games leaned more towards both parents, with 70% of their time on this activity, about 3 times less for mothers only, followed by fathers at about 5%.
However, the data profile for homework and bedtime activities was somewhat different. The former consumed 50% of their time, compared to fathers who spent only 10%. By contrast, almost 40% of both parents’ time was invested in homework. Almost the same figures also describe the time consumed for the latter, with one difference that both parents spent a larger percentage than mothers, and the record for fathers was half as much.
