The bar chart shows people’s tendencies to buy or drink coffee or tea in five cities in Australia in the last four weeks. Overall, the percentages of cafe visitors stand well above other tendencies in almost all cities, while fresh coffee buyers pale in comparison, with figures for instant coffee placed between the two customer behaviors.
Concerning visiting a cafe, the most substantial figure has been for Melbourne and Hobart (close to 65%), followed by Sydney, which is short of a few percentage points. This tendency, however, shows comparatively lower proportions in Brisbane and Adelaide (about 55% and 50%, respectively).
The relatively lower figures for instant coffee buyers show a different pattern. Hobart and Brisbane (on average, around 55%) have topped the list, and the rates in the remaining cities are reported to have been 50% or lower, with Sydney showing the least significant record at approximately 45%. Adelaide was the only city where this tendency has been roughly on par with visiting a café; 50% - albeit instant coffee consumption was negligibly higher.
By contrast, the most marked figures for fresh coffee consumption are reported in Sydney and Melbourne at merely about 45%, with other urban areas tailing behind. The least significant percentages were reported in Brisbane and Adelaide: almost 35%.
