The maps show the layout of a public library two decades ago and its transformed version today. Overall, this facility has adopted an open space design with more suitable services, ranging from specific books for targeted age groups to modern amenities.
Unlike before, today, the library addresses the specific needs of its visitors more. For children, for instance, books have been narrowed down to fiction and are housed where the AV room was (far left), furnished and expanded to host storytelling events. For adults, non-fiction is omitted; only reference books are available on the left wing of the main hall, which now has a decluttered center. What is still offered is fiction, relocated to the right wing, facing a new information desk.
Modern services are also added, more specifically, a computer room, replacing the old reading space, which can be accessed through a new door immediately to the left of the entrance, and a lecture room on the far right, allowing formal gatherings. For refreshments, a café has been established, discharging the inquiry desk that was operational 20 years ago, and unlike in the past, visitors can also use self-service machines facing the information desk.
