The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.

The plans show Southwest Airport in its current shape and its redeveloped version in the future. Overall, the airport is expected to offer a broader range of facilities, particularly in the concourse wing, and a more significant number of amenities, mainly in the arrival area, with some of its features remaining intact.
Concerning facilities, the concourse currently accommodates eight gates and a walkway, whereas the gates will increase to 18, and passengers can traverse an expanded, Y-shaped concourse with a sky train. The addition of new facilities will also include the terminals. A bag drop service will be added to the departure terminal, as the current check-in area is expected to be relocated to the opposite side, and the entrances in both the arrival and departure terminals will double in number. What will remain unchanged, however, are security, password control, and customs.
Regarding extra services, more will be expected, especially on the arrival wing of the airport. Specifically, a café, an ATM, and a car rental as an extension to the building are projected to be built and installed. Additional developments will also affect the departure bloc's café, which will have been repositioned next to the entrance, and new shops are anticipated to be built between the security area and the concourse.
